For the Love of Boots

I have this obsession with boots.  It started when I saw my first pair at Aldo when I was 16. Back then Aldo was a hip new place to buy shoes.  The quality was superb and many of the shoes were made in Brazil or Italy.  Something drew me to them.  They were black, pointed toe, and made of butter soft leather!  The lining was pink and they were made in Italy.  I tried them on, and I was sold, I needed to own them!  Have you ever had that moment?  It's magical right?! The way they made me feel, like I can do anything.  Sounds cliche, I know!  I saved for a couple months just to get them.  Back then I worked as a grocery store bagger making $5.75 an hour.  Those were the days!  and I remember the day I finally did, it was heaven!  The anticipation and all the hard work paid off.    I wore does boots to death.  To Seattle, to NYC, and many trips in between.  My shoe cobbler saw me many times over the next couple years with the same boots.  And I still have them!  Since then I have added more boots, but those will always be special!  My mom recently told me she also loved wearing boots in her younger years, hmm..I wonder if it's genetic!?  I am taking care of all mine and definitely going to pass them down to my daughters!

My Picks: Baby/Toddler Shoes at Zara and Nordstrom

Spring is just around the corner, and I am on a look out for a few cute shoes to add to my little girl's collection. Kids grow so fast and the older they get, the more they are involved in what they like.  I love practical shoes that are comfy yet stylish. Most of Masha's favorite shoes are from Zara.  I feel like they are worth the money because she constantly grabs them over other ones in her closet.  Plus the styles are classic and can easily be passed down to your younger children.  The resale price is also high on Zara products. Oh and btw they are having a huge sale right now!  Definitely check it out if you are looking for high quality shoes for your little ones (or yourself ;)

I also love Nordstrom (big surprise right, lol?!) They have the best return policy, plus I can use Ebates and earn cash back! And I love the free shipping/free returns.  Can't beat that, oh and they also price match and if the item goes on sale, they will give you back the difference.  Just have to ask :)

My Picks: Sneakers

It's January and many of us are hitting the gyms and adding "getting fit" to our New Year's resolution list.  I for one will be walking a ton more and right when I hit the 6 week mark and get the ok from my midwife, I will start working out again!

I have caught myself wearing sneakers even just to hang out or run errands.  Plus it is so much easier to chase a toddler and carry a baby with sneakers.  The styles that are currently out are fun and hip.  My favorite sneakers are the Nike Air Max 1.  They come in tons of different colors and are so comfortable!

I adore hats! When I was going through my hair loss stage, I learned that they were my best friend, as well as scarfs.  Over the years, I have grown quite the collection and love to incorporate them into my outfit.  I like to pick up a few hats every year that catch my eye.  I find amazing deals at Nordstrom Rack and Ebay.  J Crew  has classic hats that I tend to wear often.  What are your favorite type of hats?

I am obsessed with my Erin Condren Life Planner.  My hubs loved mine so much, I got one for him too! It's a great way to stay organized.  I'm not really into using my iPhone; I am the type, I need to write things down to remember.  I received an amazing deal on mine.  They always have specials and discounts, so definitely do not pay full price if you want one.  AND best part, you can customize it with so many different types of covers and colors.  Yay for pretty organizers!

Wildfox 'Baby Love' V-Neck Tee

 

I am a huge fan of Wildfox, and when I saw this in store, I knew I had to buy it for spring.  The material is lightweight and the deep v-neck is perfect.  Let's talk about the hearts! It's girly yet the fit is edgy.  I absolutely love it.   I have a few other Wildfox pieces and they are  great for everyday wear

 

 

 

Truth & Pride Leather Sleeve Moto Jacket

 

I am all about leather jackets! Even living in Florida, every place we go to is still under A/C.  Chic and modern, it is perfect to throw over any outfit.  The white creamy leather sleeves make it perfect for the warmer weather.  I couldn't pass this one up.  Plus Truth & Pride has been one of my favorites for a while now, the quality is superb for the price.

These are great for casual wear during the spring/summer.  I love the look/feel of these.  You can dress these up with heels or wear them with sneakers.  Great buy that will last you forever!!

I love all the printed jeans this season.  And these are no exception.  Polka dots have always been a favorite, and everyone knows I'm a "Jeans and tee shirt" gal.  Love the distressing at the knee.  And the price is awesome compared to the Marc Jacobs version.  I tried both on, and honestly these were just as great!

 

 

Every season I like to splurge on a few key pieces.  I am a bargain hunter at heart.  Always check Nordstrom Rack, lots of times they have the same item on sale there.

There is no surpise that I am a huge fan of Nordstrom and their outlet, The Rack.  I always find great deals and unique pieces.  Here are a few items that are pleasing to the eye ;)

These booties are effortless and the Red color is irresistible.  I can see myself pairing it with dresses and skinnies.  They also come in Black, Olive, Burgundy, and Saddle.

 

 

Truth and Pride Floral Silk Blazer

 

How charming is this blazer?! I seriously own a few blazers from Truth & Pride and they are all so remarkably made!  This one has a tuxedo shawl lapel and is made of silk.  It' versatile and pretty!

 

 

 

Wildfox 'Je T'aime' Graphic Deep V-Neck Tee

 

I love Wildfox for their chic and rock n' roll vibe.  This one caught my eye.  Je T'aime means "I Love You" in French.  Ok how darling is that!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pure Sugar Peplum Blouse

 

I'm a lover of floral prints and this one was no exeption.  I love the contrast sleeves and peplum hem! I am huge on the retro look and this would work perfectly paired with a pencil skirt or a sharp pair of bell bottoms.  I own a 2 pairs of Mother Curfew jeans and oh how I adore them!

 

 

J Brand Skinny Stretch Jeans (Hewson Wash)

 

I don't own a pair of red jeans.  When I saw these, I knew I needed a pair.  These can be worn any season and they look stunning on! And I may be biased, however J Brand makes a phenomemal pair of jeans! I love that these are mid rise, lately I have been buying more of this rise.  I think partly because when I lean over I don't like having to pull at my jeans to make sure nothing is revealed ;)

Last week we went to Sarasota Children's Garden.  What a fun place for kids! I felt like I was in a magical garden.  Masha had a great time exploring and playing with our kids.  It was definitely an adventure for her.  I can't imagine how amazing everything looked from her point of view.  She is already 22 months and loves to lead.  I literally followed her around while she lead the way. 

 

 

 

 

 

How cool are these colored wheels?!  My friend had a Groupon for this place, so it only cost us around $4 bucks.  I would go here again on a cooler day.
